TIP 1: Grilling Steaks

When grilling steaks, season with salt and pepper before grilling, then brush with this seasoned oil:

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ¼ tsp whole black pepper
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 1 small bunch fresh thyme

Note:  Seasoned Oil may be used on all meats such as chicken and lamb.

  • Mix all ingredients and keep in a sterile container. The oil is good for up to one month in the refrigerator.
  • While grilling, baste the steaks with the seasoned oil after each time the meat is turned over.
  • Rest the steaks for five to ten minutes before serving. This softens the meat and gives the meat a consistent cooking temperature.
