When grilling steaks, season with salt and pepper before grilling, then brush with this seasoned oil:
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- ¼ tsp whole black pepper
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 small bunch fresh thyme
Note: Seasoned Oil may be used on all meats such as chicken and lamb.
- Mix all ingredients and keep in a sterile container. The oil is good for up to one month in the refrigerator.
- While grilling, baste the steaks with the seasoned oil after each time the meat is turned over.
- Rest the steaks for five to ten minutes before serving. This softens the meat and gives the meat a consistent cooking temperature.
